From 1960 to 2011, the share of immigrants from thePhilippinesin theUSgrew from 1% to 4% of the overallUSforeign-born population.
After Mexican, Chinese and Indian immigrants, Filipinos are one of the largest immigrant groups in theUnited States. In 2011, about 57 000 of them were granted U.S legal permanent residency and have obtained a green card. And Filipinos represent only 2% of all unauthorized immigrants in theUS.
But this is not only in the United States. Filipinos are present all around the word, and more than 28 million people speak the Tagalog language:
There are 12 Philippine languages with over 28 million native speakers. The most widely spoken languages are Cebuano, Tagalog, Ilocano, and Hiligaynon.
The standardized form of Tagalog and its official name “Filipino” has been the national language of thePhilippinessince 1957. Tagalog is the mother tongue of about one-third of the population of thePhilippines. Filipino and English are the two official languages.

Expansion of our Tagalog team:
There are more and more requests concerning translations in this language. The activity of our team is very important, especially in a society like ours, strongly marked by a need for continuous exchange of information. In a knowledge society, communication turns out to be imperative and it is undeniable that the translator’s role is crucial in this regard.
A professional translator must have sufficient language skills in more than one language and must also know the culture of the languages he works with. That is why, at Hieroglifs International, we only work with native-speaker translators in order to provide translations of a better quality.
